Trump Hires Yet Another Unqualified Loyalist as Director of National Intelligence

Former cult member Tulsi Gabbard was a poor choice to oversee the entire United States intelligence apparatus. But at least she was skeptical of the regime's unprovoked war on Iran. For that reason, she's out at the end of the month. Her replacement as DNI could remarkably be an even worse fit for the role: Bill Pulte, an overgrown frat boy who inherited his family construction business, and who currently serves as head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency. In that position, he has helped Donald Trump gather dirt on his enemies. As DNI, he's sure to do the same, but with far more resources at his command. Pulte's nomination "will cause worry amongst [intel] professionals that the DNI will be fully weaponized in support of going after Trump's political enemies, given Pulte's track record," retired CIA officer Marc Polymeropoulos tells Politico. "There's a lot of opportunity for mischief here," Connecticut Democratic Rep. Jim Himes tells the Washington Post.

Meanwhile, the Post reports that the regime has hired a convicted Jan. 6 rioter, Elias Irizarry, "to work inside a Pentagon office that manages highly classified military operations." Eh, what's the worst that could happen?

Regime Hacks Fire Iconic Face of '60 Minutes'

You will recall how the new MAGA-friendly owners of CBS News parent company Paramount installed right-wing hack Bari Weiss as head of the network. Weiss in turn recently named dilettantish former New York Times tech columnist Nick Bilton to lead the stalwart investigative news program "60 Minutes." On Monday morning, Bilton faced the show's staff for the first time, and it did not go well. Scott Pelley, the longtime correspondent regarded as "the heart and soul" of the program, confronted Bilton, calling him unqualified and saying he was carrying out Weiss's orders to "murder" the program. "You came into our house," Pelley told Bilton. "This is '60 Minutes,' and I guess you wandered in expecting to read a statement off your phone, and you wouldn't answer any questions?" Staff laughed at Bilton and applauded when he finally left the room. Yesterday, Bilton, who had claimed he was "not intimidated" by the renowned corresponded, announced that he had fired Pelley. Donald Trump's minions are dismantling the free press one independent voice at a time.
