Alleged Kremlin Money Funnel Tenet Media Goes Dark

You probably saw yesterday's big news about the Justice Department indictment of two Russian nationals employed by the state propaganda network RT who allegedly laundered nearly $10 million through Tennesse-based Tenet Media to a select network of far-right US and Canadian influencers including Dave Rubin, Tim Pool, Benny Johnson and Lauren Southern. The Washington Post, NBC News, CBS News, CBC News, and the Nashville Scene have followed up with additional reporting. And two Tenet Media business partners addressed the indictment on their own channels.

After announcing on X that he would "assist" the FBI with a "voluntary interview" "as a potential victim of a crime," Tim Pool told his YouTube audience that he'd spent all morning talking to his lawyer. Pool cited "legal restrictions" on what he can say and spoke of "a whole dark world behind the scenes" with the FBI – and hinted, by posing a hypothetical, that "victims" of the Russian scheme such as himself may have already been "working with the investigators." He insisted he and his team maintained editorial control of videos published by Tenent, at least on "the audio side," and suggested his lucrative licensing deal with the company had somehow harmed him. "Victim? OK? I'm a victim," he said. (The indictment claims Pool's company was paid $100,000 per video licensed to Tenet.) "I'm actually somewhat grateful to the FBI," Pool said. "Finally they've done something that actually benefited me." He made clear that the statement of support he posted for Ukraine yesterday was a joke and that he still considers Ukraine an enemy of the US.

Tenet partner streamer Matt Christiansen identified himself as "Commentator-6" in the DOJ indictment in a lengthy discussion on his channel. He said he heard about the indictment when reporters started contacting him for comment, and griped that Pool and Rubin have gotten more attention. He said the feds "clearly had spies in our Discord server" and wondered who they might be. He said he knew his friend at Tenet who recruited him, Lauren Chen, was "connected to RT" and that the Tennesse company was "honest," "nothing but fair," and offered "a great opportunity." He said "I was not duped, wittingly or unwittingly. Everyone was honest with me." He said he was responsible for all content on his Tenet stream, but Tenet handled the creation of video "thumbnail" images. He said Russia sometimes tells the truth, and the same could be said of Hitler. When his guest advised him not to talk to the feds without a lawyer, he replied that "I will have to deliberate on that and consider my options."

Dave Rubin and Benny Johnson did not address the indictment on their streams yesterday. Lauren Southern and another Tenet commentator, Tayler Hansen, did not apparently share new videos, although Hansen posted on X that he was "shock[ed]" and that "TENET Media has ended." Google removed Tenet Media's YouTube channel, which had hosted nearly 2,000 videos, citing "ongoing efforts to combat coordinated influence operations."

No one employed by or associated with Tenet, apart from its two alleged Russian funders, have been criminally charged or accused of wrongdoing by the US government. Separately, former Trump administration official-turned-streamer Seb Gorka, BA, MA, PhD, claimed yesterday that Tenet's Lauren Chen had approached him with an offer, but she refused to tell him who was funding the organization, which he deemed "fishy." A Kremlin spokesperson called the US indictment a "witch hunt."

Feds Raid Homes of Eric Adams Flunkies, Seize Phones of NYPD Top Cops

New York City Mayor-Cop Eric Adams put on a brave face after federal authorities raided the homes of top City Hall officials and seized the phones of the New York Police Commissioner and at least seven other police officials. "Everyone has heard me from time to time: Stay focused, no distraction, and grind," Adams told a local TV news interviewer. Anonymous sources "with knowledge of the matter" tell the New York Times the raids "were unrelated to a separate corruption inquiry focused on the mayor and his campaign fund-raising." No one has been charged with a crime. According to The City, agents raided First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright; her fiancé, Schools Chancellor David Banks; and Deputy Mayor for Criminal Justice Philip Banks III (David's brother) yesterday morning before the Manhattan US Attorney's office issued warrants for the phones of Police Commissioner Edward Caban and other NYPD officials. "The goal is to follow the law," Adams told reporters yesterday. Good luck with that!
