THE BIG NEWS
Trump Immigration Death Squad Executes 26-Year-Old With Permission to Work in the US
Federal immigration agents shot to death yet another person yesterday, Joan Sebastian Guerrero, a 26-year-old Colombian man in Biddeford, Maine, who had permission to work in the US as well as a Social Security number, Maine Immigrants’ Rights Coalition and Presente!, NBC News, and the Portland Press Herald reported. As of Monday evening, it was still unclear which federal agency the killer or killers works for.
The street execution took place shortly after 7 a.m. Witnesses said that’s when they heard gunshots and saw a large white SUV ram a smaller white car. News photos show multiple bullet holes at head-height in the smaller car’s windshield. An officer then opened the door of the smaller car and pulled out Sebastian Guerrero, who was “bleeding profusely” from the head and who witnesses heard say, “I tried to stop.” The agents were not wearing body cameras and are now pretending that Sebastian Guerrero had been trying to hurt them, a claim they routinely use and that is routinely a lie. Sebastian Guerrero’s wife was on the scene, weeping as she held the hand of their young daughter, a toddler still wearing her Bluey pajamas. An older woman yelled at the agents, “You took her dad, you took her dad!”
Biddeford, population 23,000, mobilized immediately. They gathered in a park with signs that read “ICE just killed my neighbor,” visibly infuriated and heartbroken; several hundred marched to Sen. Susan Collins’ office chanting, “ICE out now!” only to be “shooed out” minutes later, yet more indignity from the unaccountable ruling class. Collins is one of the elected ghouls who enabled Sebastian Guerrero’s death, so his blood is on her hands; she voted to increase funding for ICE death squads with zero reforms. Accordingly, people also chanted, “Vote her out,” which they hopefully will because anyone who approved our taxes to be spent on this deadly cancer should face severe, career-ending consequences and be shunned from public life for the rest of theirs.
This latest death comes just days after ICE gunned down 52-year-old family man Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston and then let him bleed out while he begged for help. Salgado Araujo was not the person ICE was hunting in Texas. Sebastian Guerrero was likewise not the person agents were hunting in Maine, the Department of Homeland Security said Monday night, according to the AP.
Two witnesses who spoke to Portland Press Herald later in the day said they could not stop thinking about Sebastian Guerrero. One said he was dwelling on the man’s last words, telling a reporter, “He was saying he was trying to stop and then he died. Why? Because he was driving a car?” The other said they did not know the man, “but he didn’t deserve to be executed in the street,” and added a remark that I’m confident speaks for everyone reading this newsletter: “I’m pretty (expletive) tired of people dying in the streets.”
