Putin Has Been Working Musk in 'Regular' Secret Chats

It's never been more clear that billionaires, a small, undemocratic class of oligarchs who owe their existence to government outsourcing and the tax code, are a threat to national security.

Early this year, following reports that major Pentagon and NASA contractor Elon Musk frequently abused drugs including ketamine, reporters asked the top White House spokespeople whether the news had any implications for his security clearance, which, by his own account, is at the "top secret" level. Both Karine Jean-Pierre and John Kirby declined comment.

It's a question that can no longer be avoided.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Musk "has been in regular contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin since late 2022," a fact that has been "a closely held secret in government."

The discussions, confirmed by several current and former U.S., European and Russian officials, touch on personal topics, business and geopolitical tensions.

Musk has also been in touch with other high-ranking Russian officials, including Sergei Kiriyenko, Putin's first deputy chief of staff, who runs a massive online disinformation network "including on Musk's X, where it was meant to erode support for Ukraine and manipulate American voters ahead of the presidential election." Musk's growing Russian government contacts coincided with "pressure from the Kremlin on Musk's businesses and 'implicit threats against him,'" the Journal's sources say.

What's more, Musk has done favors for Putin, including calling off a deployment of Starlink internet satellite over Taiwan to please Russian trade ally, China. The Washington Post previously reported that Russian forces were using Starlink terminals to great effect in their invasion of Ukraine in apparent violation of US sanctions. Musk's relationship with Putin has already cost Ukrainian lives in the service of an old-fashioned imperialistic invasion. How long until it costs American lives?

We already knew that Musk, heir to an apartheid mining fortune, is a white supremacist conspiracy theorist who runs a neo-Nazi propaganda website, but this tendency sadly isn't unprecedented in the government-supported rocketry business. We already knew that he's been ploughing his taxpayer-subsidized fortune into electing the fascist Donald Trump, having become a leading Republican donor this year – and going so far as to attempt to illegally buy votes in swing states.

We already knew that he's anxious about the personal stakes of the November election. Musk recently told fascist propagandist Tucker Carlson that if Trump "loses, I'm f*cked," without saying why. "How long do you think my prison sentence is going to be?" he added. They were laughing, but perhaps not because the prospect of the world's richest man going to prison was absurd, but because he feared it was all too real.

And we already knew he's an all-time "dipshit." He can't help but tell us dozens of times every day.

What we didn't know, until yesterday, was that this billionaire defense contractor has been personally compromised by a ruthless dictator who sees the United States as his greatest enemy.

Enough is enough. President Joe Biden should immediately revoke Musk's clearances, nationalize Space X, and squelch this particular fascist threat once and for all.
