Israel Built Clandestine Military Base in Iraq
The US-backed rogue nation of Israel built a secret military base in a remote part of Iraq so that it could more easily attack Iran, the Wall Street Journal reported. The base was a logistical hub for Israel’s air force and home to special forces soldiers and search-and-rescue teams; its discovery explains how Israel has been able to run a bombing campaign against Iran when the two are 1,000 miles apart. Israel has bombed Iran thousands of times in five weeks.
The secret base is in Iraq’s “vast and sparsely populated” western desert region, which a war strategy researcher told the Journal makes it “an ideal location for temporary outposts,” which is a fancy way of referring to military occupation. A local shepherd reported helicopters and “unusual military activity” in the area in March and the Iraqi military sent troops in Humvees to check it out. Israeli military attacked as they arrived, bombing to death one Iraqi soldier and wounding two others. Iraqi leaders filed a complaint later in the month with the United Nations and attributed the attack to the US. WSJ sources said the US wasn’t involved. “The clash was widely reported in Iraqi and Arab media and generated speculation about the identity of the combatants.”
Meanwhile, Israel is continuing to enact its Gaza model of genocide to destroy Lebanon despite Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire between the nations on April 16, the AP, BBC and Drop Site News reported. Over the weekend, Israeli soldiers dropped bombs across the south, murdering 39 people, including multiple children. Israel has killed a total of at least 2,795 people in Lebanon since March 2. The AP pointed out that Israel and Lebanon have been in a formal state of war since Israel was founded in 1948 and that they are expected to hold talks this week in Washington, DC.

Virginia High Court Defies Will of Voters, Blocks New Congressional Map
The state’s Supreme Court justices on Friday overturned the results of an April referendum, blocking a new congressional map that favored Democrats and silencing the three million people who voted, the NYT and the Virginia-Pilot reported. The referendum narrowly passed with 51.7 percent of the vote and would have given Democrats an advantage in 10 of the state’s 11 districts. Democratic Virginia lawmakers asked the court to delay implementing its ruling until after an appeal, suggesting that they would take the case to the Supreme Court.
Nearly 200 Dead in Trump-Hegseth Maritime Murder Spree
The regime bombed its third boat in five days on Friday, killing two people and bringing the death toll of Trump’s illegal Caribbean and eastern Pacific war to 192 people, the NYT reported. There was one survivor on Friday, only the second such instance. As in the other 56 attacks, military officials and regime apparatchiks claimed without proof that its victims were trafficking drugs to the US, and that doing so constitutes a war. That is absolute horsesh*t, as legal experts have said since September, when the US military opened its new front in its ongoing global terrorism campaign with a classic Obama-style double-tap, bombing a boat and then bombing the survivors. As Human Rights Watch executive director Kenneth Roth wrote of last week’s attacks, “Each of these is a murder.” In other words, it is fair to say that Trump and drunken Secretary of Defense Peter Brian Hegseth are serial killers.

The guidance, issued without public comment or rule making, could allow companies such as Reynolds American, Altria and Juul to stock prime shelf space in gas stations and convenience stores with flavored e-cigarettes.” via the NYT.

That’s how much water a Quality Technology Services data center drained from Fayetteville, Georgia – so much that it caused water pressure at nearby homes to drop, Politico reported. When the county utility investigated, they found two “industrial-scale” hookups to the water system – one installed in secret that the utility didn’t know about, and the other not linked to the company’s account. That meant the corporation was stealing the water, the “equivalent to 44 Olympic-size swimming pools,” and owed almost $150,000.

According to the Guardian this morning, at least two of the passengers tested positive once they were back home in Paris and Nebraska. The passenger in Paris is in serious condition.
