RIP to the paranormal investigator who died while bringing a doll purported to be possessed by evil spirits, formerly secured in a glass box surrounded by holy water, on tour in a van through multiple states. I'm no expert, but that doesn't sound like the ideal laboratory conditions for an investigation. - Corey

Guards and Detainees Detail Inhumane Conditions at 'Alligator Alcatraz' ICE Camp

The journalist Andrea Pitzer, author of a global history of concentration camps, notes that "mosquito torture" was a common feature of the Soviet gulags. It is also, per the Washington Post, a daily fact of life at the so-called "Alligator Alcatraz," the Trump regime's showpiece migrant concentration camp in the Florida Everglades. The Post reports:

"Staff members are issued a can of mosquito repellent their first day of work, but detainees are sprayed only when they arrive, according to the three former contractors hired as detention guards.
"'The mosquitoes are filling the bathrooms, the showers. You go in the shower, you shower with a million mosquitoes. They give you bug spray, but that still doesn't help,' said a retired South Florida county jail officer who worked as a contracted guard for nearly two weeks...
"In phone interviews facilitated by family members and their attorneys, detainees described the mosquitoes in the South Florida wetlands as relentless. 'Most of us have skin irritations from mosquitoes; they don’t give us spray. All of us worry that we'll get a disease because of the mosquitoes,' said Anderson Miranda, 25, who came to the United States from Guatemala when he was 16 years old. 'The mosquitoes don't let you sleep,' said Juan Javier Gonzalez, 49, who migrated from the Dominican Republic."

That's only the beginning of the inhumane conditions at the overcrowded camp, which also features a lack of acceptable food, hygiene, and medical care. The New York Times confirms many of the Post's findings, as well as noting that Democratic lawmakers who toured the facilities on Saturday were taken through a "sanitized" Potemkin Village version of the site.

Five other states reportedly looking to the Florida camp as a model as Immigration and Customs Enforcement doubles its detention capacity. This madness must stop before it spreads.
