MORE STORIES TO WATCH
The Damning Epstein Revelations Keep Coming
Miami Herald investigative reporter Julie Brown has been one of the key chroniclers of the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein's crimes, his elite network, and the survivors of their abuse. Over the weekend she broke two more major stories on the case. On Friday, she cited a Justice Department source saying FBI agents who interviewed a woman who claims Donald Trump raped her when she was 13 years old following an introduction by Epstein was "credible." What's more, "they would not have interviewed her four times if they thought she was lying." The Charleston, South Carolina Post and Courier subsequently corroborated aspects of the woman's account using public records.
On Saturday, Brown reported that an inmate at New York's Metropolitan Correctional Center, where Epstein was held and found dead in 2019, overheard guards talking about covering up his death. The inmate later told the FBI what he heard:
"'Breathe! Breathe!' he recalled officers shouting about 6:30 a.m.
"Then he said he heard an officer say 'Dudes, you killed that dude.'
"A female guard replied "If he is dead, we're going to cover it up and he’s going to have an alibi -- my officers,' the FBI notes said. The inmate claimed the whole wing overheard the exchange.
"Later, after learning Epstein had died, he said inmates said 'Miss Noel killed Jeffrey.'
"He identified the female guard as Tova Noel, one of two correctional officers who were later charged with falsifying reports so that it appeared from their records that they had made their rounds that night – when they had not. The charges against her and the other officer, Michael Thomas, were later dropped, but both were fired."
It's no longer a conspiracy theory to suggest Epstein was killed in custody, or that Trump was personally involved in his crimes of trafficking and abuse.
Feds Investigating Devices Ignited at Anti-Islam Protest Outside NYC Mayor's Residence; Mamdani Safe
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and first lady Rama Duwaji were present when homemade bombs were ignited outside the mayoral residence, Gracie Mansion, on Saturday, but both are safe, NBC News reports. Far-right streamer Jake Lang led a protest during Ramadan called "Stop the Islamic Takeover of New York City, Stop New York City Public Muslim Prayer," that attracted 20 people in the morning; a counterprotest called "Run the Nazis out of New York City, Stand Against Hate" eventually drew 125 people. After one of Lang's goons pepper-sprayed the anti-fascists, police say an 18-year-old counterprotester "lit and threw an ignited device" toward Lang's group. Police sources say the devices were homemade explosives. The FBI is investigating. Two teens from Bucks County, Pennsylvania – Emir Balat, 18, and Ibrahim Kayumi, 19 – have been arrested, per the New York Daily News.
In a statement Sunday, Mamdani denounced Lang's "bigotry and racism," calling it "an affront to our city's values." He added, "What followed was even more disturbing. Violence at a protest is never acceptable. The attempt to use an explosive device and hurt others is not only criminal, it is reprehensible and the antithesis of who we are."

SOME NUMBER
55 percent
That's the share of Democratic primary voters in a new poll who say they prefer candidates closest to their views, as opposed to the candidate who may be more electable in a general election, NBC News reports. In 2020, only 42 percent of Democrats preferred the most ideologically aligned candidate, with a majority supporting the candidate most likely to defeat Donald Trump.
