Trump's Economy: Hungry Families and Homeless Schoolkids

Donald Trump and his Republican Party are prepared to let 42 million Americans, including children, lose food stamp benefits and go hungry beginning Nov. 1 "due to an inability to access federal funds." Trump could snap his fingers and fix it, but he's busy building a gigantic golden monument to himself (see below).

The Washington Post reports that state agencies have warned about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program disruption in recent days. Per the Post, New Jersey, Texas, Illinois, Oklahoma, California, Pennsylvania, New York, Missouri and Minnesota have warned about missing benefit payments if the government shutdown continues into next week; while Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and Illinois "have outright said that November benefits will not be paid."
