8 Million People Protest Worldwide in Third No Kings Day
One million more demonstrators took to the streets this weekend to protest Trump and his fellow fascists than they did at the last No Kings day five months ago, the BBC, Financial Times and NYT reported. Protesters rallied in every US state, Washington DC, Puerto Rico and 39 cities around the globe; marchers carried effigies of Trump and JD Vance and signs with clever, funny, earnest and enraged messages, all telling the regime to get f*cked. Organizers said the movement “was spreading into Republican states and rural communities amid growing opposition to the president’s decision to go to war against Iran.” According to the NYT, protesters held rallies in “deeply Republican enclaves such as Shelbyville, Ky., and Midland, Texas,” and came days after a Reuters/IPSOS poll found Trump’s approval is at his lowest ever since he retook the White House at just 35 percent.

Most affected seniors nationally had other Medicare Advantage options to choose from, but around 30,000 did not, according to a new analysis by KFF, a health research organization.” The communities most harmed are in Idaho and other rural states.

SOME NUMBER
$72.5 million
That’s how much Bank of America agreed to pay to settle a lawsuit brought by hundreds of survivors of dead convicted sex offender and Trump friend Jeffrey Epstein. If approved by a judge, it will be the third payout by a major bank to resolve claims that the bank financially benefitted from their relationship with Epstein and ignored signs that he was using his accounts to facilitate crimes against girls and women. The earlier settlements were $290 million from JPMorgan Chase and $75 million from Deutsche Bank. These amounts are nothing but pocket change; Bank of America Corp.’s settlement is about 0.022 percent of its nearly $336 billion market cap.
