Regime Will Garnish Wages of Student Loan Borrowers Starting Next Month
Trump’s education department will seize the pay of student loan borrowers starting the week of January 7, layering on the punishment for wanting an education beyond high school, the NYT and the Washington Post reported. The announcement comes shortly after the regime decided to force eight million more people into loan repayment by ending the Biden-era Saving on a Valuable Education repayment program, as I reported earlier this month. Yay.
The wage garnishment will hit about 1,000 borrowers in default, who will get an email from the government announcing that some of the most corrupt, bigoted, dead-hearted people in the country decided they should suffer. More notices “will be sent to larger numbers of borrowers each month.” As of May, the regime has also been seizing tax refunds and Social Security benefits of student loan borrowers.
Trump’s policy decisions are making life impossible for a growing number of Americans, squeezed by rising rent, unaffordable childcare and health insurance, and increasingly expensive utilities and groceries. A lot of people are going to get hurt next year because Trump’s GOP decided we deserve it. The only comfort I can offer here is that at some point it will blow up in their faces.
