ICE Planned $200 Bounty for Each Deported Immigrant
The Trump regime emailed directors and deputy directors in ICE field offices around the country yesterday morning to say it would “hand out $200 bonuses for each immigrant deported within seven days of being arrested and $100 for those deported within two weeks,” The NYT reported. Then a Times reporter asked WTF and less than four hours later the program was no more. An official shouted to staff in a follow-up email, “PLEASE DISREGARD.”
The bonuses were originally going to be offered for 30 days in a pilot program. Per the Times:
It was meant to motivate officers to reduce a backlog of people awaiting deportation, “reducing overall removal costs and decreasing strain” on the agency’s detention resources, the memo stated.
To “maximize” their bonuses, the memo instructed ICE agents to deport eligible immigrants through a fast-track process known as expedited removal, which allows immigrants without legal status to be deported without court proceedings. It also said that agents could offer detainees the option of leaving the country voluntarily.
“That is so ungodly unethical,” former homeland security official Scott Shuchart told the Times. “Would you pay a bonus to judges for wrapping up trials faster?”
This is just the latest ugly effort to entice people into goose-stepping for Stephen Miller, the Trump advisor and progenitor of the regime’s immigration policy. The regime is also offering signing bonuses of up to $50,000 for new ICE recruits.

Texas Gov. Sues Leader of House Democrats
The emergency lawsuit filed with the state Supreme Court Tuesday seeks to remove Rep. Gene Wu, arguing he violated the Texas Constitution and abandoned his post, NBC News reported. Wu and other House Democrats left Texas to thwart the Trump-backed plan to redraw congressional districts to give Republicans five more seats in Congress. Without Democrats around, Republicans don’t have a quorum needed to approve the new maps, so now they are throwing a temper tantrum. In addition to Gov. Greg Abbott’s lawsuit, Sen. John Cornyn asked FBI Director Kash Patel to “aid Texas law enforcement in locating and arresting Democrats” who left, according to The Guardian, which Trump appeared to support, saying the agency “may have to” get involved. “The governor of Texas is demanding they come back,” Trump said. “A lot of people have demanded they come back. You can’t just sit it out. You have to go back. You have to fight it out. That’s what elections are all about.”
Lawmakers Investigating Epstein Subpoena Clintons
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform issued subpoenas to ex-President Bill Clinton, ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and multiple high-ranking former officials in the Department of Justice for testimony on dead convicted child sex abuser Jeffrey Epstein, NBC News reported. In addition to the Clintons, the committee also sent deposition subpoenas to former Attorneys General Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Bill Barr, Merrick Garland, Jeff Sessions and Alberto Gonzales, and former FBI Directors James Comey and Robert Mueller “for testimony related to horrific crimes perpetrated by Jeffrey Epstein,” as well as a subpoena to the Justice Department for “records related to” Epstein.
