Chicago Mayor Moves to Block Trump’s Gestapo

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order on Saturday to foil Trump’s “out of control” plan to take over his city, the AP and the Chicago Tribune reported. The order stops the Chicago Police Department from helping Trump’s gestapo with civil immigration enforcement or any related activity, including patrols and checkpoints. It also bans law enforcement from wearing masks in Chicago and requires they display at all times the agency they work for.

Johnson told all city departments to protect Chicagoans’ constitutional rights “amidst the possibility of imminent militarized immigration or National Guard deployment by the federal government.” And he responded to a question about how federal agents are just “taking orders” like this: “Yeah, and I don’t take orders from the federal government.”

Sources told news agencies that the anti-immigration terror campaign could come to Chicago as soon as Sept. 5 and would last 30 days. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, she of the dead doll eyes, acknowledged that plan on Sunday but didn’t say whether it included deploying National Guard soldiers. If it does, the state will sue “pretty quickly,” said Gov. JB Pritzker.

“I’m saying we don’t want troops on the streets of American cities,” Pritzker said, according to the Chicago Tribune. “That’s un-American and, frankly, the president of the United States ought to know better. This one doesn’t seem to. He doesn’t seem to understand the Constitution or the laws.”
