Joe Biden's $8 Billion Parting Gift To Israel

In an administration that should be defined by its direct facilitation of Israel's genocide of the Palestinians of Gaza, this one deserves special note. According to admin-friendly stenographer Barak Ravid, writing for Axios, "the State Department has notified Congress "informally" of an $8 billion proposed arms deal with Israel that will include munitions for fighter jets and attack helicopters as well as artillery shells." The arms deal must be approved by the foreign relations committees from both houses of Congress.

Along with close intelligence and logistical support, there have many arms transfers between this administration and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government over the last couple years. Israeli military leaders have said repeatedly that their ultra-violent military campaign – now touching Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran – can only be prosecuted with the material aid provided by the United States. Biden's decision to sign off on yet another arms deal when he is weeks from shuffling out the door for good only affirms how committed he is to the greater Zionist project.

Biden has supposedly fumed to aides and allies about Netanyahu's character and set the occasional public red line, which Netanyahu duly obliterated as surely as he flattened Rafah. In practice, Biden has marched in lockstep with the twenty-first century's leading genocidaire, a failure of political and moral leadership that, along with the administration's dissembling over Biden's cognitive health, helped return the White House to Donald Trump. Whether the death toll in Gaza is 45,000 or, as some Palestinian physicians fear, almost ten times that, it is a colossal crime that should have been stopped long ago, except a doddering president and his craven advisors – Jake Sullivan, Antony Blinken, Brett McGurk – wanted it this way. They should never hear the end of it.

Justin Trudeau Expected to Resign

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau may resign his job today. Or this week. Or he may not! But he's definitely, seriously thinking about it, according to an anonymous source speaking to Reuters. Granted this is not what one might call rock-solid reporting, but another report in the Globe and Mail cites three sources claiming that Trudeau will resign as leader of the Liberal Party but will attempt to remain PM while a new party leader is chosen. Trudeau's Liberal Party is facing pressure from the Conservative Party headed by Pierre Poilievre, a weevilish, Bitcoin-loving right-wing populist who could be the country's next prime minister.

  • Vegas Bomber Had Head Trauma Matthew Livelsberger, the Green Beret soldier who shot himself in the head and set fire to a Tesla Cybertruck in front of a Trump hotel in Las Vegas, likely had traumatic brain damage, according to a woman he dated. While the bizarre spectacle and symbolism of the event is still being parsed, along with Livelsberger's odd paranoid communications with military bloggers and influencers, the revelation may help explain Livelsberger's behavior. In the last year, the New York Times has published stories revealing that untold numbers of soldiers – artillerymen, grenade instructors, speedboat operators, Navy SEALS – are suffering profound brain damage across a variety of specialties, deployments, and combat zones. via WaPo and NYT.
